It's all about our stories

We are in conversation with ourselves every single minute of every single day. We tell ourselves stories all the time. The stories will circle around what we think of ourselves and others, what we look like, how our response to a particular situation could have been different, how we could have behaved differently, maybe used different words and so on...

Much of the time the things we say to ourselves are deeply judgemental. Some of these judgements make themselves known through our judgement of others. And to make matters worse, the thoughts come with feelings, sometimes deep and very uncomfortable feelings.

The kind of feeling that we will want to push away because they feel so constricting and heavy. We like feelings that are expansive and light, we don't like the others. Wanting to avoid them is an understandable response, but unfortunately bypassing their message will often lead to furthering their reach.

I believe that perception is the key to everything, but most especially our healing. Every situation we encounter gives us the possibility of seeing things differently. Are we seeing our experience from a place of limitation, or abundance? Does it feel bad or does it feel good? The former feels constricted and a total contrast to what we would actually like life to feel like.

The aim for most people is to get to a point where feeling free from the pain of limitation is their most experienced state. We have to identify limiting beliefs to be able to change them. The only way to identify them is by seeing them. Spiritual bypassing doesn't exist on my watch! Pin pointing limiting beliefs can be as simple as discovering through a conflict that happened as recently as yesterday.

Our lives are made up of patterns that we are not even aware we are creating. In conversation we would begin to map an understanding of the insights the experience offered through the individuals involved, the emotions that surface and thoughts heard. Often we would be lead back to a significant childhood event which we would be able to touch on together and through this process begin to map the pattern and unpick the stories that have lead you to where you are today. This process will help you connect to your body and all the wisdom that lies within. It will often reveal what life is prompting you to recognise within yourself giving you the insight and the ability to change what you no longer wish to carry.

The process uncovers blocks that prevent you from reaching your full potential. The subconscious mind accounts for approximately 95% of our behaviour. Our subconscious processes information much faster than our conscious mind. In session I may use PSYCH-k™ which provides a simple and effective method to observe and transform limiting beliefs, AMDR 'Applied Memory Deconsolidation and Reconsolidation', providing a flexible approach effective in the treatment of overcoming traumatic experiences, dealing with chronic pain, PTSD and anxiety and also a form of conscious meditation that allows you to connect with parts of you that have been yearning for your presence. With particular emphasis on resourcing and becoming familiar with the ILOC model, working in this way helps the body come back into balance.

A little more about me

My journey to becoming a therapist began almost 20 years ago with The Open University where I studied Psychotherapy. I came across Dr Bruce Lipton's work and was so inspired by the possibility of transformation that I went on to train in PSYCH-k, Reiki, Emotion Code and Theta Healing which eventually led me to qualify as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist. As I continued my own healing journey, my fascination with the quantum field and the energetic value of our thoughts and feelings, I began to delve into the world of Numerology, Astrology, Tarot and German New Medicine exploring the profound connections between our physical being and the possibility our inner world offers. I remain in awe of the depth of healing that arises from this work.

In our sessions we will discover how life experience has direct impact on physical and emotional well being. We will explore the co-created reality we inhabit, uncovering established patterns and work towards transforming any limiting subconscious beliefs. If you are open to it, I incorporate your personal numerology which has a habit of allowing further insights into what feels right for you as you move forward in life.  The process aims to facilitate healing from past trauma and empower you to step into a new, more empowered version of yourself.

I am also a trained actress and I offer specific dedicated coaching for those in the industry

My story

I try not to shy away from sharing my own story. I believe it is important to understand we are all in some way or another wishing to integrate shadow parts of self, none of us has it 'perfect' or 'sorted', there is always something at some point that will bite us in the arse. It is less about controlling the un-controllables and more about having the tools to respond when the un-controllables come.

As a young woman, I craved to be seen and heard (I blame my Leo moon in the 10th house!) and yet, I was crippled with anxiety and low self worth. I was however a master at hiding it. Silence was my friend. Nobody knew what I had experienced until many years later when my body couldn't take any more. In 2000 I broke down. Luckily I was with a very dear friend who held me and listened. 16 years later with little real understanding of the patterns I was creating and the destructive choices I was making, life had become a far cry from what I had dreamt it would be. As my belief system mirrored back to me everything I was avoiding, I was given no choice but to listen.

Everything I had endured and dismissed had come up to bite me in my arse. More explicitly in my back, my spine, my hips, my bladder and my urethra. I was in so much pain I could no longer walk. We hold much of our trauma in our hips and the surrounding areas, especially when that trauma is based around lack of boundaries and people pleasing tendency. My nervous system was shot to pieces. I had ignored the trauma caused by sexual assault and narcissistic abuse for too long. After countless doctor's appointments, telephone calls, cries for help, an MRi and an Xray I was told I had Osteoporosis, Fybromalgia and the shadow they detected on my spine was possibly cancerous. I self-diagnosed Interstitial cystitis and Vulvadinia because no-one I spoke to could come up with anything that remotely answered that particular question. I was crippled with anxiety, experiencing constant panic attacks. I couldn't sleep for more than 1 hour at a time and rarely left the house. After 2 yrs of living like this I was forced to take matters into my own hands.

I used everything I knew about Trauma repair on myself. I began studying German New Medicine. I worked with a somatic coach online. One day at a time I chose me and slowly my body began to trust me again. We healed together.  I am now 99% pain free. I know what to do when pain flares and am able to take charge of my life again.

I have been working with PSYCH-k for the last 12 years. During that time I have also trained in Reiki, Emotion Code and Theta healing, which led me to qualify as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and NLP practitioner with The Quest Institute. I then went on to study AMDR, now known as CTR (Compassionate Trauma repair), with Gill Woods. I am passionate about bringing everything I have learnt to others.

I continue to study German New Medicine as I have found it to be incredibly insightful in discovering patterns and facilitating healing.
